Selecting, Channels, Layers... and making magic

I will tell you what. This is both exhilarating and exhausting... hard to stop working once I start. It is challenging to store all the new information , maybe this has something to do with teaching an old dog new tricks?

SueAnn's going digital was no small feet

Anatomy of a Chicken Revealed

The Laughing Chickens of Chickenlandia live at my house at Porcupinecreek.
I have discovered much about chickens since I began eating the beautiful celadon coloured eggs that the Aracaunas give us. This illustration, of a Bardrock, done on earthenware reveals much.

digi-tell-us

Porcupinewoman aka: SueAnn Randall is:
  • a multimedia
  • multidimensional Artist,
Who chooses to live "Life As Art"

I live far far away from school, in a pale-yellow house that hangs between the forest and the sea.
My husband, a cat, a dog, and some chickens live
there with me.

  • I have minimal experience with the computer world, other than as a glorified typewriter and I am delighted to be on this new adventure of learning. My experience with the digital arts is limited to operating a digital camera and downloading the photographs to my computer.
  • Usually I am successful in my attempts to do this, but sometimes I find myself trying to understand what I  just did. Then I'm either wanting to repeat it, or I'm intent on discovering how to never do it again. This is often a frustrating experience that finds me telephoning one of my children and pleading with them to "save me".
  • Prior to this class I owned and operated a PC. I am now the proud owner of a Mac. While I am busy learning the new desktop, at home, I sometimes say all the bad words I know.

I enrolled in the course The Digital Studio: Art and Technology because I strive to be a keen observer of opportunity.   I suspected that I would regret not participating in this class, because of the opportunity to work with an Artist who is well versed in the hands-on-process of fine art as well as the vast applications, and possibilities that the digital medium has to offer as a visual language.

  • Currently my goals are very basic. I intend to come away from this course with an understanding, and ability to manipulate my work digitaly and present it in an interactive portfolio format.
I will not be surprised to find that I begin a long list of goals, as I am already aware of other things I would like to accomplish.

  • Several years ago I wrote and illustrated a story that I feel others would enjoy reading. I am quite confident that this course will help me take it the "rest of the way" through digital enhancement.
Besides learning an incredible amount of information, I expect that this class will include a lot of laughter, which will make this class work very well for me.
